A meeting was held on July 21, 2015, in the offices of the Québec Underwater Activities Federation, the FQAS, with Mr.Randy Giles, PADI’s Regional Representative in Canada. Topics of the meeting included PADI’s programs, the Québec Act pertaining to Safety in sports, the Québec By-Law regarding recreational diving qualifications, and Diving Safety Regulations.
PADI’s new Reactivate Program was also presented, which enables the diver to revise his diving techniques after a period of diving inaction, and the accompanying self evaluation slate.
Two such meetings are held each year between representatives of the FQAS and PADI, so as to maintain a good communication channel between the two bodies.
In between these two formal meetings, they will continue to keep themselves mutually informed on the evolution of diving in Québec and Canada.
The FQAS is the Québec Government’s official delegate for the issuance of the Government qualification certificates. Thank you Mr.Giles for your visit to our offices.
