Sport
SURFACE SWIMMING,

Competitions finswimming take place over the following distances:

POOL:
At the surface (SF): 50m, 100m, 200m, 800m, 1500m and 1850m (one nautical mile).
Apnea (AP): 50m (25m for 12-13 years, prohibits younger).
Immersion with SCUBA (IS): 100m, 400m, 800m.
In relay (RL): 4 x 200m in surface swimming.
IN THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT: No limit.

The national and international championships are held over distances of 6 to8km.

Swim with the Palm is officially recognized by the International Olympic Committee since 1986.
